CONTEMPORARY ANTISEMITISM HAIFA 2026 – CALL FOR PAPERS

Contemporary Antisemitism is the largest, now-annual academic conference on contemporary antisemitism.

We are pleased to announce a call for papers for Contemporary Antisemitism Haifa 2026, which will take place on March 15-17, 2026, at the University of Haifa.

The conference will be co-hosted by the Elizabeth and Tony Comper Center for the Study of Antisemitism and Racism at the University of Haifa, the London Centre for the Study of Contemporary Antisemitism, and the Center for Holocaust Studies and Human Rights at Gratz College and the Institute for the Study of Contemporary Antisemitism at Indiana University. The 2026 conference builds on Contemporary Antisemitism London 2025. Looking ahead, Contemporary Antisemitism Philadelphia 2027 will be hosted by Gratz College and cosponsored by the Institute for the Study of Contemporary Antisemitism at Indiana University.

These conferences aim to foster a global community of antisemitism scholars, providing a platform for rigorous research, open discussion, and meaningful academic engagement. We seek to sustain this community through an annual conference hosted in rotation in different countries and through an international academic network that supports ongoing collaboration and convenes in smaller forums between conferences.

Our goal is to create an intellectual haven amid an increasingly constrained academic environment. The conference and network will offer a space for open, critical, and respectful dialogue on antisemitism, including within the academy itself, as well as on topics such as Zionism and Israel which are related to antisemitism. We welcome all perspectives, provided they are presented in a scholarly manner.

Contemporary Antisemitism Haifa 2026 will also feature a day dedicated to subject-specific tracks. This will allow participants to delve more deeply into areas of their interest and work, and to help coalesce a network of subject-specific scholars. (The tracks will be announced shortly.)

This year’s conference is at University of Haifa, Israel’s most diverse university, located in a multicultural city and greater area. The conference program will include tours and experiences that highlight and engage with this local diversity.

The University of Haifa is home to the Elizabeth and Tony Comper Center for the Study of Antisemitism and Racism, a university-based research center focusing on contemporary antisemitism with international scholars and programs. Our mission is to foster robust academic discourse on contemporary antisemitism.
