Jacob Dallal is a lecturer, researcher and consultant on public policy, with a focus on antisemitism. He manages the Elizabeth and Tony Comper Interdisciplinary Center for the Study of Antisemitism and Racism, lectures on antisemitism, and is a consultant to NGOs and politicians.
Jacob previously worked at the Ministry of Strategic Affairs, an Israeli government ministry which led the government’s efforts to counter the delegitimization of Israel. As director of academic affairs, he led the ministry’s work on antisemitism, hate speech online and the delegitimization of Israel in academia.
Jacob was director for public relations at the Jewish Agency for Israel and at Birthright Israel in New York and at the Mandel Foundation in Jerusalem.
Jacob is a major (reserve) in the Israel Defense Forces Spokesperson’s Unit, and served from October 7, 2023, for nearly 3 months and continues stints of active reserve duty. He had served as a career officer and spokesperson to the international press for five years, including as acting head of the international press unit during the Lebanon War in 2006.
Born in Chicago, Jacob has an undergraduate degree in political philosophy from the University of Chicago and a master’s degree in public administration from the Kennedy School of Government at Harvard University.
