Contemporary Antisemitism – London 2025
The Comper Center co-hosted, with the London Centre for the Study of Contemporary Antisemitism, the largest academic conference on contemporary antisemitism (Sunday, March 30 – Tuesday, April 1) in London. Some 300 academics and 100 invited guests and members of the public attended.
The conference ran some 60 sessions (many running in parallel) on subjects ranging from on topics ranging from AI to academic boycotts, from antisemitism in gender and women’s studies to narratives of suffering. The conference opened on Saturday night with a reception highlighting the art exhibit that was part of the conference, attended by 300 people, both conference participants and members of the public.
Keynote speakers include renowned documentarian, author and historian Simon Sharma, and scholar and author Jan Grabowski from the University of Ottawa, specializing in Poland during and after the Holocaust. The session received special press coverage. This session was chaired by Comper Center scholar Sara Hirschorn. The second keynote session, chaired by David Barak-Gorodetsky, featured Prof. Pamela Nadell of American University, who served on the US Congress committee for combating antisemitism, and South African activist Phumi Mashigo.
A special reception for the Comper Center was held on Sunday evening attended by some 200 conference participants, with greeting remarks by Anthony Julius, the famous London barrister who defended Prof. Deborah Lipstadt in the landmark trial against Holocaust denier David Irving, and author and public figure Ben Freedman.

At the end of the conference, it was formally announced that the next Contemporary Antisemitism Conference will take place at the University of Haifa on March 15-17, 2026.
